Roger was born in Trinidad and moved to Canada in his early teens. Straight out of high school in 1982, he enrolled in Jazz Studies at St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia, Canada. He then attended University of Knoxville in 1984 where he met and interacted with some legendary musicians and jazz drummers. This life-changing experience was the greatest inspiration to date, in his musical journey.

In the 80s and 90s, he performed with various bands and musicians in the eastern part of Canada. Primarily, performing jazz and old school Soul/R&B classics (e.g. Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Twilights, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and so on). Over the past 5 years, he has quickly made a name for himself as a sought after music instructor for drums, piano, guitar and bass, and one of the most versatile drummers in Trinidad and Tobago. He continues to be a strong advocate for “Live Music” and supporter of local musicians and artists.
