Kerron Hislop has been actively involved in music and music education for over twenty years. He holds Master of Music degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Technology from California Baptist University and La Sierra University respectively. He has also worked extensively with youth at various levels over the years.

In 1994 he founded the USC Marching Band, which is still active at the University of the Southern Caribbean and continues to provide young people (usually with no previous experience) with musical training and a structured, disciplined environment for expressing their energies. Mr. Hislop currently coordinates the music program at the University of the Southern Caribbean – directing the University Concert Band, University Chorale and Orchestra as well as mentoring several small ensembles and providing woodwind instruction in addition to his academic and administrative duties.

He joined the USC music department in 2016, but served the institution previously from 2001 in various capacities including Computer Science teacher and Acting Chair of the Computer Science Department (2007-2010).
